 I had the great pleasure of teaching IB English to Ali at AIS. He was a truly outstanding young man with enormous talents and a warm, kind personality. I last saw Ali at the high school graduation in June and we shared a few words and smiles. Your teachers grieve for all that you were, and all that you might have been.  Its true that we are a gigantic family, how ever we just seem so small now with out you, Ali.  I got to know Ali a bit in the summer, yet during the short time I met him, he impressed me with his humor, friendliness, and warm personality.  No one who ever met Ali will ever forget him. Everyone who ever met him had a special day, month, or even years because they knew him. His appetite for life knew no end and we will always love and remember him for that.
Ali is the only person I've ever met who has never wasted a second of time. If it was in between activities at Sail France, Ali would have to hide Eoin's bed. Or it was exposing ignorant teacher's flaws, Ali never wasted time. Even during more traditional teenage activities, Ali decided to clean up EJ's cabin because nobody else would.

Everything Ali touched turned to gold because of him.
May we all learn a lesson from him and live life to its fullest.

My most sincere condolences to Ali's family,
Thanks for putting up this page Abdu. I can't even imagine the pain you are going through right now.

 I never really knew Ali. I had seen him around, but I never actually met him. Even though i didnt know him, the news of the tragedy really hit me.I cant even begin to imagine the grief his family and friends are feeling. I just want to express my deepest condolensces to the whole Ahmed family. I heard that Ali's father was badly wounded, and he'll be in my prayers. There is nothing that i, or anyone could say to console his family's grief. But i'd like to share a quote by Leonardo Da Vinci which has always helped me when reflecting on the death of a loved one; "As a day well spent brings happy sleep, so a life well spent brings happy death" My thoughts are with Ali's family, and may god help them through this rough time.  It's hard to think of life without Ali Ahmad. Ali was a remarkable person with so much going for him who made us all very proud. He didn't deserve to die. I have known him ever since I started school at AIS, and I just can’t even begin to imagine a day without him.  Bro I dunno how life without u is ever going to be the same - we wore diapers together, then we moved on to kindergarten and got separated for being too glued to each other, just to be returned to the same grade again few months later when they realized we were inseparable. Remember Boy scouts? Scorpions! With 3amo Afif as our Troop leader? Damn we ruled! BTW did we really earn those beads or was it just out of pure sympathy?
Man we even ended up in the damn hospital together - remember our nightly luxury meals (thanx to our dads) or how bout goat balls? When we going to have them again?

I know eventually we had our ups and downs but all friendships are like that. No matter how good or bad things might have been between us, I always loved you and still do - I might have said some bad things but I didn't mean them, it was just anger talking.

Bro what happened was very wrong, u shouldn't have been taken away from us, u didn't deserve this and ur family certainly don't deserve ur absence or the pain they going through - it's just really wrong and doesn't make sense.

My last few days with you, felt like the days back in Kindergarten - where we didn't have a thing to worry about. Ur last day in Belgium still shocks me - we had our last dinner together with ur mom and dad - we went out and had a great night + the extra's.. it was the perfect good bye that I never ever wanted to see coming..

U asked me several times that day to do u a favor while u are away, and I just want u to know that I will be doing that for the rest of my life - ur family is my family.

Although I will miss u more then anything, I will cry no more - I will only remember our great memories and will stay strong and hold my head up high, just like u'd want me and everybody else to be doing.

We've always been inseparable, and things aren't going to change now after so long - u will always be with me Alouch no matter what.

We are all proud of you Ali, and I really wish I had listened to you and gone with you to Africa, whether it was to spend my last days with you or to change the course of destiny.
