 Ali,such an amazing person he had a good heart and was a role model for not only Ahmad but others too. His family, i know is very proud of the things he has achieved.

He always looked out for me when Ahmad wasn't around and everytime we talked he always made me laugh. His family has also always been so kind to me. I really appreciate that and wish them all the strength that they need and more.

Ahmad,know that I'm always here for you when you need me.

Rest in peace Ali you will never be forgotten and you will remain in our memories and our hearts..

 Ali Afif Ahmed, My "second" older brother, you were always there to give me advice that my brother wasnt able to give, i always looked up to you, and we always had our converstations, once i made fun of someone in front of you, you took me to the side and told me, "What is the point? why are you doing that? All you just did was lose a person that could be important in your life, all you did was make yourself a bad person, instead of being a good person and being remembered by people, because every person you meet, could be an important part of your future." Well ever since these words i have changed, and i realise what you mean. The last time I met Ali, was a few weeks ago in Belgium, the night before he left to Guinea,Africa. When i saw him he had a big smile on his face,as usual, we spoke one more time and before he left he had no problems with anyone, and brought a smile on every single persons face in the room once again, he gave me a warm brotherly hug before he left, I will never forget this image of you Ali, and can't believe what has happend, but god does take the good people to sit next to him. Ali was a good person to everyone and brought out the best in others, he was one special human being, that i always knew would be successful, he is in a better place now, in paradise. Ali i truly miss you, and will never forget you, you were and are an inspiration to all of us. I would like to say thank you for being there for me when i needed it.

 When I think of Ali, I see a smile. He always managed to put a smile on my face with his kind gestures, friendliness, and sarcasm. Ali and I graduated from AIS together after being in the same class since 4th Grade. He was not only my classmate, he was my friend and brother...And as he put it "my Lebanese Connection".

I see what everyone writes and I feel proud that I had such a great person in my life and touch all of these hearts. Ali is a role model to us all and anyone that crossed paths with him is considered LUCKY!
We are all saddened by this great loss, but we all know Ali was a strong character and we should all follow in these footsteps and be strong for eachother.

The many memories we shared are what hold me up and help me smile. There are many things that I'll never forget about Ali, but one thing that really cheers me up is when I remember International day 1993, Ali and I were partners in the Lebanese Dance, and he had put SO much concentration in learning the footsteps of the dance that he felt the pressure while performing and kept pushing my arm down to keep his balance which ofcourse caused us both to lose our balance infront of many many MANY people hehe.
One day this Summer in Lebanon, I was having a rather depressed day and as us girls may call it "a bad hair day"... All it took was a couple of words from Ali and I had a smile on my face for the rest of the evening.

My brother, Hassan, moved to London last year and thanks to Ali, he acted like an older brother to him and helped him learn a lot about London and tried to keep him FIT by constantly nagging him to get out of bed and go play football, basketball, or any activity he could think of.

I know we are all upset and sad by this tragedy, but to keep this on a lighter note, I would like to remind everyone how lucky we all are to have been part of Ali's life and how proud we should all be of Ali and his achievements in life. As Abdu mentioned, Ali also told me he was happy in Africa with his father, and that makes me happy. Ali will remain in all our hearts and memories. And everyday that Ali crosses our minds I would hope we all have a smile on our faces rather than tears. For a smile is what Ali put on all our faces and a happy life is what Ali lived and would want us all to have.

My condolences go out to his family. We are all here for you.
Ali will remain with us all forever. May he rest in peace.

 I never got to know Ali, but I often got to hear Ahmad speak of him. And if he was any thing like Ahmad then I know he was a great person. Ahmad, you became a great friend, and taught me things just as I hope I taught you things. You really get to know someone quickly when you are put into a situation that we were in. One thing I admired about you was that you really loved your brother no matter what happened. Even though he went off to college you still lived your life like he was always with you. And he will always be with you. I am sorry, and you will always have a friend in me. Thank you for everything. Stay strong like I know you can.

 I was shocked when i heard the news..
I am a friend of zainab. Although i only met Ali once he looked like a very nice guy to me. Not only because whole the Ahmad family is very nice but i can see that a lot of people care about him.

 Reading the comments here its obvious how someone with Ali's strength and kindness can affect the lives of many.

Ali and I shared interests in computers and frequently chatted about his plans for the future at college in England. We played soccer and basketball together and had discussions on the happenings around the world on bus rides. The loss of Ali's insight, kindness, and potential make this tragedy all the more difficult.

My sympathy goes out to Ali's family and close friends. Ali is lucky to have had such a loving group around him. May he rest in peace and may the qualities he embodied live on forever.

 We have lost someone most special. It has saddened us all deeply, everyone who knew Ali. Somehow he touched us all with his friendly manner and great smile. He had so much potential and was an obvious joy to his entire (extended)family. The loss leaves a huge hole.

 I've spoken to Ali personally on only two occasions, once in June 2004 and once about a month before he left us...
On both occassions he was very, very nice; he was giving advice on which university I should go to and what I should study. He insisted I call him before making my decision. Not every guy would be this nice when you start to get to know him!
His mother, Auntie Najwa, used to come by our house pretty regularly; and every time she spoke of him you felt just how proud she is of her son. Ali's brother, Ahmad, also used to speak of Ali and again you could feel how much he looked up to his big brother.
Ali, you are one of the nicest guys I ever met and will ever meet. I can't imagine how much your family will miss you. REST IN PEACE.

i cannot even begin to describe the pain the whole family and i are going through. like aya f. said, our family is so big, but with you gone it seems so small. there will always be a part of us missing and we will never forget you.  I spoke to Ali in June of 2004, it was my first time talking to him, we were speaking with my brother Hussein about university and he was giving advices to him what he should do, and i felt that he was talking from the bottom of his heart. Ali was a very good person and very educated boy. I give my all my condolences to Anti Najwa and Amo Afif which are parents that I respect a lot and have educated a lot her son to be the man he was. It will be hard for them to accept the circumstances but please be tough so we can all be. The only thing that I can offer is some prayers, so i will offer Almarhum Ali Afif Ahmad some prayers. And if you can do the same, please do it because i know he will receive it. God protect Ali and us all.
