 Dearest Ali,
What can I say? No words can ever express the feelings that I have for you. I love you beyond what words could ever describe. I knew you as a baby, as a child and as a teenager. Twenty one years have come and gone and instead of seeing you as a man, you have left us and become a part of our past. You will not see your future, the future that you always dreamt of having. I know that your future would have been that of a very successful man.

You have gone forever my boy. Why and for what reasons? These are the questions for which I have tried to find the answers. Each morning, when i wake up, I immediately remember that someone who I love dearly has been taken away. I want to blank the whole thing out but life must go on instead. Your smile cannot be erased from my eyes and your face cannot be erased from my heart.

I will never forget the days you enjoyed with Ahmad, the nights that you spent with Samo and the hours you shared with Mohammed. You shared so many happy and sad moments with them. In fact you were their fourth brother. Our vacation in Mexico, in July 2004, was the best ever. You were all so very happy being together. I watched you playing beach volleyball, swimming in the pool, diving, snorkelling, fishing and shopping. But these happy memories are marked with a deep bitterness. You asked me, "Where are we going next year Amto?" I did not know that you were going to choose your own destination and leave us behind to suffer the loss of your departure.

I miss you so much Aloush. I know that you are in heaven now and though my heart is full of pain I know that Allah will take care of you until we meet again. Rest in pease my angel.

To Afif, Najwa, Darine, Ahmad, Zainab and Neveen: your loss is much more than that of any of us, but these things are up to God above. Our loved ones are only borrowed; they're not ours to keep. May Allah help to quell the pain we all feel.

 I hadnt seen Ahmad in seven years now, but from all the pictures can certainly tell he grew to be a fine young, respectful man.
My heart and condolences go out to the parents of Ali, brother and sisters, cousins, family, and friends.
Darine-All I can say is everything in life happens for a reason, and your brother is watching over you in a much better place right now, and would want you to continue to hold the family together and be happy.

 I just found out about this website, and decided to go to it and write something small. Even though i wasnt very close to Ali, i still knew him, and what made me feel like he was a brother was the fact that Ahmad is my bestfriend, and Darine is my brothers good friend. Ali was truly a great person and an angel. I hope hes resting in peace right now and im sure hes looking down on us and smiling.  I'm one of Darine's friends, and have never never met Ali, but after reading the comments people have contributed to the guest book I have to say that i'm heart broken.  Ali was the first person I met at UCL. And from the day i met him i knew how genuine this guy was. He was an extremely honest person that would stand up for the truth. He was not the type of guy that would just let things be.. This was one of the many qualities i admired about Ali.

Hearing the news a couple of days ago, I was shocked and was very upset that I did not know any earlier.. But most of all i wished that I had seen more of this amazing person. It was only in the last year that we found out that we lived next to one another and started to ride the bus home together. I wish I would have gone to the graduation... But everything happens for a reason... And Ali is surely happier where he is.

My condolences to the Ahmed family. Time heals all things and makes you understand the reason behind everything.

 It was the 26th of September when we got a phone call.. I would have never thought this phone call would be a big shock that would strike my heart...but unfortunately it was.. I had lost, lost a precious person..Ali you are truly missed by me and everyone who knew you.. But i and everyone should know that you are in a better place with Allah..

 It was the 26th of September,when a shock struck my heart and i felt like my sunny days became gloomy and my nights became my worst nightmares. We all know life goes on. After a happy day coming back from school laughter was fulfilling my heart and i had not even thought of anything but happiness. My brother Mohammad walked into the kitchen,had an unusual look in his face,when he told me the tragic news. I simply backed away and could hear his voice penetrating through my ears. At first i didn't believe it but it hit me as i knew an angel in the family was gone. Someone who had his hopes up high who wanted to reserruct his future and succeed in all his goals he wanted to achieve.
As i told whoever is reading this..life goes on. Were all going to live once and it's only good and special people that God takes early. As i live day by day i think about "An angel whose name is Ali Afif Ahmad" I might have moved on but i have to live with it every single day of my life.

 I can't believe what has happened. The only thing that makes sense to me about why he had to leave us so soon is that God would have wanted a man like him close to himself.
